The 2019 edition of the Advancing Women in Agriculture West conference is about two and a half months away.

The conference will be taking place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Calgary on March 11 and 12.

As always, it will feature many experts speaking on a number of topics.

The workshops this year will include reading and understanding financial statements, an open discussion on maternity leave, how to prepare your farm and operation for an unexpected death of a key member of your farm operation as well as wealth management and succession.

There will also be pre-conference sessions on accessing capital and working with your banker, finding the right coach for you, building and leveraging your personal brand for success, enhancing your role in your business and how to improve your negotiating skills.

The conference speakers will include leaders from across Canada speaking on a number of topics.

These sessions include how to get into leadership and be effective, ways to find success in your life and all of your endeavours, understanding persuasion and influence as well as success stories from women in the industry.

There will also be a panel focussing on the role of women in agriculture in developing countries as well as the barriers they face and the difference technology is making in those countries.
