Young farmers from across Alberta will converge in Rolling Hills on Wednesday for a farm tour, pasture assessment course, weed management update and an evening of food and networking.

This year’s summer tour will include the option to either learn about potato seed and canola seed production as well as a carrot farm and packaging plant up close at Spruce Lane Potatoes and learn about weed control and management in the County of Newell.

The second option will be more for producers coming from a ranching background.   The tour will be held on Eastern Irrigation District-owned pasture land and will focus on grazing and stand management of the land.    Producers on hand will learn grazing stand management, pasture assessment and pasture rotation to maximize grazing productivity of the land.

The day will be capped off by a dinner and networking program at the Brooks Hotel and Hell’s Basement Brewery.
