It's 4-H on Parade, a chance for kids from Calgary area clubs to show off their projects which include everything from livestock to photography to welding to baking.
In the Fall of 2017, the community of Balzac lost a dedicated community member in Garth Bishop. In the wake of the tragedy, Stanley Jones and the Balzac Beef club decided to raise this year's 4-H on Parade charity steer and will be donating the money raised from the steer's sale to his young family. Bishop was an alumnist of the Balzac Beef Club. The steer will be auctioned off around 12 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018.
Landon Hebbes is no stranger to raising the Charity lamb for 4-H on Parade. He's done it a couple of times before along with his Cheadle 4-H Club. This year the charity lamb's name is Champ and the proceeds from the sale will go to the War Amps. The charity sale will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at around 12 p.m.
We talk about what 4-H has given one Calgary area residenT, who competes in 4-H Rodeo coming up on Rural Roots Canada, where we get to the Stem and Meat of Agriculture.
4-H members know all about growth, they see their projects grow over the course of the year. However, by the time it comes to an end for the year, it pales in comparison to the growth they themselves achieve.
