The Alberta Young Farmers and Ranchers are excited about an event that is rapidly approaching! February 23-25, 2018 the Canadian Young Farmers Forum conference will be held in Saskatoon and will welcome delegates from across the country. The Canadian Young Farmers Forum, or CYFF is the national umbrella that supports and helps fund the eleven provincial affiliated organizations. Their vision is to educate and energize a powerful network of young farm leaders. The CYFF hosts an annual conference and this year we have the convenience of it being hosted right next door in Saskatoon.

The CYFF team have brought together a great group of speakers with the focus on topics that young farmers across Canada will find extremely relevant. Some of the speakers include Kristjan Hebert on ‘stop leaving money in your field,’ Dr. David Posen on ‘stress,’ and Casey Langbrook on ‘succession planning.’ Friday night kicks off with the Hunter Brothers, and both Saturday night and Sunday night are rounded out with plenty of networking opportunities. When asked what value this type of conference can lend to a young farmer, different attendees of past conferences have highlighted the networking aspect. To be able to talk to young farmers from across the country about how they are doing things in their province offers a fresh perspective to bring back to your own farm. It also helps to know that a lot of the struggles young farmers deal with are often shared across the country and this conference speaks directly to those challenges.
