Cereal leaf beetle arrived in Alberta in 2005. It struggles to survive in really dry years. Damage by this beetle shows up as striped as the beetle eats a line along the leaf.

Alberta also has a native tiny wasp T. Julius that is a parasite of cereal leaf beetle larva. T. Julius is just one beneficial insect in Alberta fields and Haley talks about making sure you take care of them as they work for you and save you input money.
