The Connect – The Heart of the Farm conference, put on by the Saskatchewan Women in Ag, is only a few days away.
It is taking place on November 1 and 2 at TCU Place in Saskatoon.
Women in Ag CoFounder Ginelle Pidwerbesky says it was important for them to take on this event so they could celebrate farm women.
“More often than not farm women are at the centre of the farm operation,” said Pidwerbesky.
She says this is just a way to give back and say thanks for all that they do.
Pidwerbesky says the two-day conference is jam-packed.
“We have Rachel Mielke from Hillberg & Berk to talk about empowering women in different industries and how she does that through her business, we also have a two-time Olympic gold medallist to address the room.”
Among the other speakers will be Jolene Brown speaking on farm business management and the tools and techniques for running family businesses, the Shark Farmer from Shark Farm podcast and a panel of recipients of Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers from past years.
She says it won’t stop there as the event will also include entertainment including The Hunter Brothers will be performing, so it is going to be a lot of fun.
Pidwerbesky says they will also be celebrating a successful harvest.
“There are two elements of educational and empowering, we want everyone to walk away feeling like they like they can take on another successful year and grow and develop in their personal lives and professional lives and it’s a networking opportunity none other.”
