Edmonton (Rural Roots Alberta) – Alberta’s dairy farmers are turning generosity into action, with Alberta Milk partnering with the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation to support kids and families across the province.

Their holiday campaign, which runs until the end of December, is part of Alberta Milk’s annual partnership with the foundation. Funds raised will help ensure children throughout Alberta have access to specialized care and support when they need it most.

Reuben Joosse, General Manager of Alberta Milk, says the partnership reflects a long-standing commitment to community.

“Giving back is a core value of Alberta Milk and Alberta’s dairy farmers, for sure,” explains Joosse.  “We’re committed to giving back to the province and to our communities, and this partnership is one example of the way that we’ve found to support children’s health, to support our communities, our province, and for Alberta’s dairy farmers to give back.”

And giving back means doubling the impact of every donation.

“From November 27th to December 31st, Alberta Milk is matching donations up to $100,000 to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation,” Joosse says. “Those donations will go towards the hospital foundation’s highest priority needs, which include prevention, community-based care, specialized treatments, therapeutic programs, and research.”

In a statement, Vice-President of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, Liz Ballendine, says support from donors such as Alberta Milk and its members makes a difference. “Contributions like this strengthen the programs, research and technology that give kids the best care possible when they need it most.”
