Medicine Hat (Rural Roots Canada) – The Cypress Farm & Ranch Show is returning to Medicine Hat this June, with organizers promising more exhibitors, a revamped format and an expanded shopping experience for attendees.

The show will take place June 11 and 12, 2026, at the Cypress Centre on the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Grounds, alongside the WPCA World Chuckwagon Races.

Show Manager David Fiddler says organizers made changes after listening to feedback from both exhibitors and attendees following last year’s event.

“Well, there’s a few changes. We’ve shortened the show to a two-day show for the pure ag part of it. We surveyed our exhibitors last year and we listened to them. They felt that a three-day show was maybe a little long,” said Fiddler.

One of the biggest additions this year is the Country Marketplace, which will run in a separate Hall for three days and wrap up on Saturday in conjunction with the Medicine Hat Farmers Market.

Fiddler says the marketplace was created after attendees asked for more shopping opportunities & lifestyle opportunities.

“Well, again, we listened to our attendees and the results of our survey were a desire to add more shopping opportunities. It was certainly a common theme from them,” he explained. “We have a wide range of products, everything from salsas to tack like saddles and bridles and everything like that.”

The event will continue to focus heavily on agriculture with exhibitors ranging from large equipment and grain transportation companies to finance, irrigation, fertilizer and drone technology businesses.

“We have about 30 more exhibitors than we had last year, so we’re showing a bit of growth,” said Fiddler. “We’ve got a great speaker lined up with everything from drone technology to equine health seminars.”

The educational speaker sessions are also returning after receiving strong feedback in 2025.

“That was really interesting because we had a fairly small, intimate area where we do the speaker sessions, and that was appreciated by a lot of people,” said Fiddler. “They felt it was easier to speak out and ask questions in front of 30 people versus 300.”

Entertainment has also been added to the mix this year with Saskatchewan comedian and social media personality Quick Dick McDick scheduled to perform during the show, along with live music from Rob Hudec in the all day beer gardens.

Fiddler says the show is designed to blend education, entertainment and business opportunities for producers and exhibitors alike.

“For any event to be successful, it has to have what I figure is four elements of success. And that’s education, entertainment, competition, and commerce,” he said.

The timing in conjunction with the World Professional Chuckwagon Association races is also intentional, giving exhibitors another opportunity to connect with customers outside the trade show floor.

It gives our exhibitors an opportunity to host customers for an evening at the Chuck wagons for more of a social event and building their relationships with their clients,” said Fiddler.

According to the event’s press release, the show was created to serve the agricultural community in southern Alberta and southwestern Saskatchewan by bringing together producers, exhibitors and industry leaders through commerce, education and innovation.

Admission is $10 online or at the door, while youth and children are admitted free. More information can be found at the event website: The Cypress Farm and Ranch Show – A Medicine Hat Agricultural Event.
