Vermillion, AB (Rural Roots Canada) — A pair of Edmonton chefs are bringing a taste of agriculture to consumer palates.

Loreto and Nicoletta Nardelli, owners of the popular Italian Cuisine website SugarLoveSpices, focus on creating authentic Italian dishes with organic ingredients sourced from the farm.

Loreto says their cooking and blog are all about quality, and that starts with building relationships with the farmers behind the ingredients.

What began as a regular farm tour at Chatsworth Farm, located near Vermillion, Alberta, turned into a hearty relationship. Nardelli says he can’t promote anything he doesn’t like, and the Chatsworth Farms products are among his favourites.

“We love what they do, you know, the way they treat their animals, what the animals eat, and just the product, the product is amazing,” says Nardelli.

He also speaks about being around people who bring inspiration to life. “Nicoletta brought me back to my roots and an appreciation of Italian authentic cuisine,” says Nardelli. Not only speaking about his business partner, but also his life partner.

Nardelli encourages consumers to learn more about where their food comes from and to stay up to date on what is happening in the farming world.

“It could start at a farmer’s market, but even going on the web and searching out farms is a good place to start.”
