Edmonton (Rural Roots Canada) – FarmFair International is more than a livestock showcase for many producers; it’s a family gathering that spans generations.

At Greenwood Cattle near Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, the Payne family has made the trip to FarmFair every year since 1978, turning the event into a tradition woven into their family history.

“Farmfair is near and dear to all of our hearts. We’ve been lucky to win four Supremes here over the years. We love the competition, and we love the people, and that’s why we come,” says Jackie Payne, noting the memories their family has built in and out of the show ring.

She says FarmFair has played a key role in the growth of their operation.

“It’s really important to have a place to market in a central place… where you can actually showcase all your genetics at once and what your operation looks like.”

The 51st edition of FarmFair International wrapped up in Edmonton last week, continuing a legacy that many families, like the Paynes, proudly carry forward.
