Medicine Hat (Rural Roots Canada)– A new agricultural event will debut in southern Alberta in June.
The Cypress Farm and Ranch Show will take place June 12–14 in Medicine Hat, coinciding with the World Professional Chuckwagon Races, which are being held in the city at the same time.
Krissy Fiddler, part of the event’s organizing team, says the region is overdue for a show that brings together both the farming and ranching communities.
“The more I learn about this event, I also see that it is a bit of a diamond in the rough,” says Fiddler. “That’s an underserved area, especially in the ag community, for how big agriculture is in that area. There is a need for that sector to have these types of business events.”

She notes strong local support is building, especially from agricultural dealers.
“The timing is perfect. It’s a built-in audience there with the World Chuckwagon Races happening at the same time. It aimlessly goes together. So, yeah, I think the team there is super excited about that event,” she adds.
Organizers say the event aims to serve as a business and networking hub for producers in southeast Alberta.
