Hey Everyone!

It’s been a big couple of years at Rural Roots Canada.

It is surreal how many times I’ve had that thought pass through my head. I honestly can’t believe the growth we’ve seen, and the once-in-a-lifetime experiences we have had at home and around the world.

Today is another one of those days.

We are growing once again. Starting Monday, November 18, our RRC radio network will include a daily radio feature on 94.1 CJOC and 98.1 The Ranch in Lethbridge, Alberta. Both stations along with digital community platform MyLethbridgeNow.com  are part of the Vista Radio family. This is in addition to our weekly radio feature, which is currently running on CKFM in Olds and CKVG in Vegreville.

radioThat’s five features a week, airing twice every day:

  • 94.1 – CJOC: 6:50am and 4:50pm
  • 98.1 – The Ranch: 720 am and 4:20 pm

All of the features will also be available right here on ruralrootscanada.com.

I’ve been trying to let all that sink in, the opportunity we have in front of us as we continue to tell the ag community’s story. I have been pushing for more than a decade to find partners to join us, so I can’t help but get a little emotional about all we’ve achieved. The lesson is don’t ever give up on your dreams. Keep working towards them, keep learning, and embrace the journey.

This wouldn’t be possible without a lot of people.  I want to thank the team at Vista Radio, including Scott Armstrong, Joe Gabor, Gary Russell, Caralee Parr, Sheldon Button and John White, for their enthusiasm for partnering with us and paving the way.  We are so excited to work with everyone!

Thank you to my amazing team including Tim Parent, Kristen Lepp, David Spence and Brooke Martine for all their work to help put this together. You are all helping make this long-time dream a reality!

Thank you to my family and friends for their support. Many times, that support has carried me through and helped ensure I stay true to my goals.

Lastly, thanks to everyone who has listened to our radio features, read an article on our website or interacted with our social media posts.  Your support means more than you could ever know.

Today is another great day for RRC, but it won’t be the last. The momentum is GROWING!

Craig
