Another year, another packed house for Soderglen Ranches as cattle producers from across western Canada turned out, and many others tuned in on-line. for its 2017 Select Bull sale.

The people who work at Soderglen Ranches couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out.

Seedstock and Cow Herd Manager Jared Sherman says they averaged over $8,000 a bull.

“We had a great day, our customer support is incredible, our core customers came out, we couldn’t be more ecstatic,” said Sherman.

Sherman says he likes to think the sale’s success shows their program is working, which they are ecstatic about.

“What we believe today is, is how our customers feel about what we do, they have value in it and that’s great for us,  we just couldn’t be more appreciative of our customer base and we’re just so thankful they’re with us.”

Over 130 bulls, which included Black and Red Angus, Simmental, Charolais, CCM and Black and Red MAX, were sold on sale day at one of the largest seedstock operations in the country.

Despite all the bulls that were sold on sale day, there’s still plenty more available.

“We have a private treaty yearling sale coming out in April, about 85 to 100 yearlings and we’ve got a lot of two-year old bulls around us to service bull warranty claims, bull wrecks and guys who missed out and didn’t get bulls bought.”

2017 marked the first time they sold ranch horses at the sale. Sherman says they were pleased with the reception of this addition and will be continuing it in future years.
