Olds (Rural Roots Canada) – SeedMaster Manufacturing, a pioneer in seeding technology, has partnered with Olds College of Agriculture & Technology to sponsor seeding equipment for the Olds College Smart Farm.

As part of the 10-year partnership, SeedMaster will provide some of its cutting-edge equipment as part of its commitment to agricultural innovation and to support the next generation of farmers.

On the equipment list, SeedMaster will provide its SeedMaster Toolbar and UltraPro II 550 seeding system. Olds College says it will use the equipment for its Smart Farm operations, conduct research activities and provide learning opportunities to students in the Heavy Equipment Technician Program as well as other programs that the college offers.

In a release, Todd Ormann, Vice President of Development at Olds College, calls partnerships like this the lifeblood of the work done at the College.

“Without generous donations like this, we would be unable to deliver the education and research needed to support the agriculture industry. Modern technology like this is critical in developing the learnings around seeding applications that support increased yields and environmental stewardship.”

The equipment donation for the 2024 and 2025 growing seasons will be replaced every two years with machinery that has similar specifications.
