The Ag Women’s Network is an organization that started as a forum in 2013 to help young women in agriculture connect.

AWN’s focus is to help women in the industry network and empower them to take on roles that women are not typically seen in, in agriculture.

The AWN’s Jennifer Christie says the organization stemmed from a few people seeing the need for mentorship when it comes to women in agriculture.

“We saw an opportunity as young professionals to do some peer mentoring and kind of share our stories and learn from one another and that was really how we started,” explains Christie.

Christie says that many women feel this is a safe place to connect.

She adds that their growth has been phenomenal since their start in 2013.

Over 16 hundred members have joined since it’s launch last spring.
