Edmonton (Rural Roots Canada) – The Crossroads Crop Conference, a premier event for Western Canada’s agricultural community, returns January 28-29, 2025, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel West Edmonton. Organized by Alberta Canola, Alberta Grains, and Alberta Pulse Growers, the event aims to address pressing challenges and opportunities in farming with the theme Future Proof Your Farm.
Paula Law, a farmer from the Lacombe area, says the event has great value for farmers.
“What it is, is the crop commissions getting together and bringing up what could be coming at us in the future. It’s a great time to hear different things, network with industry professionals, and learn about trends we may not even be aware of.”
She also highlighted the importance of such gatherings in helping farmers stay informed and resilient in an ever-changing agricultural landscape.
The conference will feature renowned speakers, including Dr. Lenore Newman discussing agricultural innovation, Walter Schwabe exploring AI’s role in farming, and Drew Lerner forecasting weather trends critical for farm planning.
