Calgary, Alta. (Rural Roots Canada) – Rocky Mountain Equipment is accepting applications for its 2026 Right by You Ag Society Grant program, offering four $10,000 grants to agricultural societies in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Now in its sixth year, the program has provided $200,000 to rural communities since launching. This year’s funding will bring that total to $240,000.

The grants support projects that benefit rural communities, including upgrades to gathering and event spaces and educational initiatives. Approved projects must be completed within two years of receiving funding.

Applications close July 31. Recipients will be announced Sept. 30.

Garrett Ganden, president and CEO of Rocky Mountain Equipment, said agricultural societies play a vital role in Prairie communities.

“Our ongoing leadership of this program is just one of the ways we stand beside them and help strengthen these important community pillars,” he said.

Last year’s recipients included the Tomahawk and District Sports Ag Society in northern Alberta, which purchased a zero-turn mower to maintain more than 10 acres of community grounds. The Taber Exhibition Association in southern Alberta upgraded its tractor to support year-round events.

The Perdue Ag Society in Saskatchewan also purchased a zero-turn mower to maintain nearly 11 acres of grounds. In Manitoba, the Dauphin Ag Society bought freestanding panels to improve safety at chuckwagon and chariot racing events.

“As we approach 20 years of serving communities throughout western Canada, we feel honoured to have played a role in the long-term success of so many agricultural societies across the Prairies,” Ganden said.
