(Rural Roots Canada) – Isolated hailstorms across the Prairies caused minor damage to crops, according to the Canadian Crop Hail Association (CCHA).

Over 33o crop damage claims are under investigation resulting from storms from August 26-September 1. Insurance adjusters, already dealing with multiple claims from other storms over the summer, are working seven days a week to resolve them, according to Scott McQueen of Palliser Insurance.

“If you need to harvest your crops before your adjuster has arrived, please make sure you leave a representative sample of your field. If you have any questions regarding sample sizes, please contact your insurer,” he said.
