Calgary (Rural Roots Canada) – The upcoming Advancing Women in Agriculture Conference on November 24 and 25 will feature speakers from across the globe.

Iris Meck is Director of Conferences for Glacier FarmMedia.

“The biggest thing and newest thing about Advancing Women is that we got speakers from England, Australia, throughout the U.S. and all the way up to the Yukon,” Meck said.

She is also proud to say they already have over 400 delegates from all across Canada registered.

“It’s just going to be a great gathering of women who are all passionate about agriculture.”

Meck says the virtual platform will allow everyone to connect.

“We are going to be able not only to hear the presenters but be able to communicate with the presenters through the chat line.  We’ve got speakers that are selling books and so you’ll be able to go in and purchase books from them.”

Meck says the platform will allow everybody to connect with every delegate at the conference and have a discussion with them and then be able to print off your database so that you can connect and continue building relationships.

She says this conference is for everyone across the industry.

“One great thing about Advancing Women is that it allows an opportunity for women all across the industry, whether you’re a student studying agriculture in university and college, farmers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, grower association members, corporate agri-business.”

Meck says once again the conference is a real opportunity for women to come together.

“Really pull up a chair and talk to each other about leadership about women can make a difference in the industry, from all across the industry.”
